Many Left Without Power After Snowstorm | News
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
The Wednesday night snowstorm left many without power in Bradford, Wyoming, and Susquehanna Counties.
The storm dumped up to a foot of wet, heavy snow in some areas of northeastern Pennsylvania, causing numerous trees and limbs to fall onto electric lines and creating widespread power outages across Claverack’s service territory.
At the height of the outage, more than 2,000 Claverack members in Bradford, Wyoming and Susquehanna counties were without power.
Most of the power has been restored. However some people will remain without power over night.
Claverack is being assisted with power restoration efforts by line crews from Citizens’ Electric Company of Lewisburg and Tri-County Rural Electric Cooperative.
People are reminded to stay away from downed power lines. Fallen lines may still be energized and should not be touched. To report downed lines or outages, call Claverack at 1.800.326.9799.
Claverack serves approximately 18,000 consumers in Bradford, Susquehanna, Wyoming, Tioga, Lycoming, Sullivan, Lackawanna and Luzerne counties.
